New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu spearheaded the commemoration of the 75th Republic Day from Kartavya Path in Delhi this morning. Serving as the Chief Guest is French President Emmanuel Macron, emphasizing India’s rich cultural tapestry and formidable military strength.

This marks the inaugural occasion of an all-women tri-service contingent marching down Kartavya Path. Captivating the audience during the flypast, women pilots will exemplify ‘Nari Shakti,’ signifying the strength of women. Furthermore, the contingents of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will exclusively comprise women personnel.

Commencing at 10:30 am, the Republic Day parade is scheduled to unfold over a 90-minute duration. The ceremonial proceedings will commence with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the National War Memorial.

Kartavya Path will bear witness to a march past featuring a combined band and marching contingent from the French armed forces. Captain Khourda will lead a 30-member band contingent, followed by a 90-member marching contingent led by Captain Noel. Above these formations, a multirole tanker aircraft and two Rafale fighter jets from the French Air and Space Force will grace the sky.

The first in line for the Indian Army contingent leading the mechanized column is the 61 Cavalry, commanded by Major Yashdeep Ahlawat. Established in 1953, the 61 Cavalry stands as the sole actively serving Horsed Cavalry Regiment globally.

The Indian Navy contingent, comprising 144 Agniveers, will be led by Lt Prajwal M as Contingent Commander, with Lt Mudita Goyal, Lt Sharvani Supreiya, and Lt Devika H serving as Platoon Commanders. Following this, the naval tableau will unfold, depicting the themes ‘Nari Shakti’ and ‘Sea Power Across the Oceans Through Indigenisation’.
