Amitabh Bachchan Reportedly Presents Prateeksha, His Juhu Bungalow, as a Gift to Daughter Shweta

In the 14th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan shared insights about his residence, revealing, “My father bestowed this name upon the house.”

In a recent development, acclaimed actor Amitabh Bachchan has officially transferred ownership of his Juhu bungalow, Prateeksha, to his daughter Shweta Bachchan. As reported by Money Control, a gift deed was formalized on November 8, accompanied by a payment of ₹50.65 lakh as stamp duty. The bungalow, situated within the Vithal Nagar Cooperative Housing Society Ltd, spans two plots with areas of 890.47 sq m and 674 sq m, respectively. The property is appraised at ₹50 crore, according to information shared by India Today. Notably, Prateeksha is positioned just one kilometer away from Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, Jalsa.

In another series of images from the birthday celebration, Shweta Bachchan Nanda conveyed her wishes, stating, “May you always be embraced by love.”

Vogue India notes that Prateeksha holds the distinction of being the inaugural home acquired by Amitabh Bachchan. Initially, the actor resided there with his parents, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and Teji Bachchan. Interestingly, the house received its name from the legendary poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

During the 14th season of the quiz reality show “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” Amitabh Bachchan shared insights about the house. He revealed, “This name was bestowed by my father, and there’s a line in his poem that goes, ‘Swagat sabke liye yahan par nehin kisike liye Prateeksha’.” It’s noteworthy that Prateeksha holds sentimental value, as Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan exchanged vows at this iconic residence.

Amitabh Bachchan and his daughter Shweta Bachchan share a profound and special connection. On the occasion of the legendary actor’s birthday, Shweta curated a collection of joyful pictures featuring the two and posted them on Instagram. In her heartfelt caption, she expressed, “Happy 81st Papa. Big shoes (and hugs) that no one can ever quite fill.”

Looking ahead, Amitabh Bachchan is set to appear in the upcoming film “Kalki 2898 – AD” alongside Prabhas, with Deepika Padukone playing a pivotal role. Additionally, the dynamic duo of Deepika and Big B will reunite on screen for the Hindi adaptation of “The Intern.”
